The border for this quilt is comprised of 26x 4" pocket patches from the US Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Forces, Coast Guard, Merchant Marines, Maritime Service, Airborne, Glidertroops and other Army branches. These pocket patches would be worn on the front of the jackets. The sides and bottom borders are comprised of Armored Battalions.

The main body (within the 2" green border), is made up of Armies, Army Groups, Corps, Divisions, Commands and other units. From left to right in the rows they are in order. Ex. First Army, Second Army, third Army and so on.

An interesting story of a group of patches from this quilt are the Phantom Units (sometimes called Ghost Units). Underneath  Operation Overlord, a mission of deception into making the Germans believe that we had more units than we actually did. These units had their crests created through the Department of Heraldry and several patch manufacturers produced them.

89"x114" and weighs 14lbs
